Particle size reduction with air conveying system

The RINA Jet-Mill models are micronizers processing dry powder in order to reduce significantly the size of the particles. It is the transformation of powder and granulates to microscopic particles that could be used in some special applications within the pharmaceutical industry for example pigmentation, coloration, inhalation, etc…

The absence of mechanical shocks guarantees the non-contamination of the product and a precise control of the final size. The Riera Nadeu’s design is very easy to clean to avoid cross contamination.

The micronizers RINA Jet Mill are producing particles smaller than 10 µm with a very narrow distribution curve around the medium size. The particle size is at a scale immediately superior to the nanoparticles.

The system is fed with a venturi and compressed air. The micronizing chamber is a circular classifier. Only the finest particles are being blown or sucked out. The flow is then conveyed to a filtering equipment to recover the powder in compliance with the local requirements in terms of emission.

The micronizers RINA Jet-Mill allow combined operations of micronization and particles coating. The installations are modular, compact, with no part in movement and low maintenance cost. They can be adapted to the general arrangement of the production plant.

 

The treatment of abrasive products can require a lining of the equipment with some special material like high alumina, silicium carbide, tungsten carbide, etc…

 

From the safety point of view, they can be adapted to work in explosive hazardous area with the relevant certification or approval for the operating location. The micronizing line can be working in closed loop circuit with Nitrogen if needed.
